One2Eleven’s Rainy Day Ideas for Autumn
With the transitioning seasons, unpredictable temperatures and typically rainy British weather it can sometimes be difficult to entertain little ones who just want to burn off energy but can’t go outside!
We’ve gathered our 5 favourite wet weather activities to help entertain children; from fact-finding missions in Victorian England, getting creative at home and the Big Blue Slide at One2eleven there’s lots to do, so there’s no need to fear next time the rainy weather strikes.
Cornwall’s Favourite Indoor Play
One2eleven is a great way to keep children out of the rain but still able to run wild! Climb to the top of the main frame and slide back down, visit the cuddly plush animals in the Pawly Pets Animal Hospital down on One2eleven Street or even get their creative juices flowing with arts and crafts often to hand. It’s also great for grown-ups with comfy chairs to relax in whilst supervising children and free wi-fi so you’re able to keep up with friends and family online. Find out more about our play facilities here.
Keep little minds occupied with arts and crafts at home. Make cardboard creatures, papier-mâché puppets or monstrous masks! There are lots of websites with ideas of what to make or let their imagination flow with the materials. Top tip: use washable paints, pens, and glue!
Find Out About Victorian Life At Flambards
Did you know Flambards Victorian Village has a spotter trail? Leading you through the Victorian Village, past the butcher’s shop, millinery and old school house, this trail makes for a great activity for you and your little one to work together in a fun and educational way. Grown-ups will learn something too!
Wellies And Woodland Walks
Slip on your wellington boots and go on an adventure through the woods. They’re often a little more sheltered by the trees, compared to a coastal walk, and can provide hours of fun! Go on a bear hunt, look for faery grottos or track the big foot’s prints – there’s lots to explore!
Stay Cosy This Autumn With A Hot Chocolate
If you don’t fancy any of the above you could always just stay cosy indoors with a hot chocolate and your favourite films. We’ll have marshmallows on our hot chocolate, please!
